Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are a favorite in my house and being the cook of the family, I really love this set-it-and-forget-it version. I like to take the extra five minutes to toast the hoagie rolls in the oven because really, I can spare five minutes when the recipe is this easy and it makes the whole sandwich ten times more amazing. Ingredients

It doesn’t get any more simple than this! These slow cooker Philly cheesesteaks only take a few ingredients. You can switch things up and add whatever you want to your slow cooker to add flavor and variety. Here is what I use in this recipe. You can find the measurements below in the recipe card.

    • Beef: I like to use top sirloin and cut it into strips. You can always find meat on sale and slice it up, a lot of cuts can work for this recipe like a chuck roast.
    • Onion: White or yellow will work, cut into slices.
    • Red and Green Peppers: These are classic, it takes just a few minutes to chop up fresh ones into strips.
    • Beef Broth: This makes the meat soft, tender, and juicy.
    • Garlic Powder: Adds extra flavor to the meat.
    • Italian Seasoning: I like to make my own homemade blend because the flavor is fresh and there is no added salt.
    • Salt and Pepper: This is to season the meat.
    • Hoagie Rolls: Hoagie rolls are definitely the best in my opinion, but you can use any type of bun you want.
    • Provolone Cheese: The cheese gets so melty and delicious, you have to add it on top!
Process photos showing how to prepare the meat, the veggies, the broth, and then adding them to the crock pot.

    Philly Cheesesteak Recipe Slow Cooker

This is one of my favorite slow cooker recipes because it is so easy and absolutely delicious. These slow cooker Philly cheesesteaks are always a hit at my house, and are perfect served with a side of potatoes or some chips. However you eat them, you are going to love this tender beef cut into thin strips and flavorful veggies to go along with it. Here’s how you make this recipe.

    1. Make Broth: Whisk together beef broth, salt, garlic powder, italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
    2. Add Beef and Veggies: Add beef, onions, and peppers to slow cooker. Then pour broth mixture over the top. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
    3. Toast Hoagies: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Then line a baking sheet with foil. Open each hoagie roll and layer two slices of cheese in the middle. Then place on baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes or so until cheese is melty.
    4. Assemble: Use tongs to transfer meat and peppers to the middle of each hoagie roll (on top of cheese). Serve hot.

Tips for Making Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteaks

There are so many variations of these slow cooker Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. You can add a lot of fun things to your crock pot for extra flavor and keep things interesting. Get creative with how you make these Philly cheese steaks!

    • Use Cheese Whiz: Now, I’m not saying that people from Philly are going to like this, but cheez whiz makes the most amazing sticky cheese and meat mixture ever. It’s a great substitute for the cheese in this recipe! Just spray it on top and let it melt into the meat. You won’t regret trying it at least once!
    • Spice Things Up: Add some Worcestershire sauce to the broth while the meat it cooking! It adds extra flavor and a little spice that you are going to love. You could also add other hot sauces when you are assembling your crockpot Philly cheesesteaks.
    • Add Other Ingredients: Beer makes the broth taste incredible, if you want to add some, a half cup of your favorite brand makes this sandwich incredible. I also toss in mushrooms when I’m making these

    Storing Leftovers.

Like most sandwiches, these slow cooker Philly cheesesteaks are best stored separately and then assembled when you are ready to eat them. I would store the meat and veggies in one container, and keep the hoagies untoasted until you are ready to serve some up.

    • In the Refrigerator: Store your meat and cheese in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

    • Whisk together beef broth, salt, garlic powder, italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

    • Add beef, onions, and peppers to slow cooker. Pour broth mixture over the top. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

    • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil. Open each hoagie roll and layer two slices of cheese in the middle. Place on baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes or so until cheese is melty.

    • Use tongs to transfer meat and peppers to the middle of each hoagie roll (on top of cheese). Serve hot.

I love that I can throw it in the crockpot, let it cook all day and dinner is ready to go. It’s a lifesaver for busy days! This is definitely my new go-to meatloaf recipe.

Add in some delicious homemade rolls and a leafy green salad and you have a meal that will become a go-to for any busy night!

    Ingredients in Crockpot Meatloaf

This recipe for crockpot meatloaf is perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner! The combo of the savory beef, sweet glaze, and tangy balsamic vinegar creates a delicious blend of flavors that is sure to please your taste buds! Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for measurements.

    • Ground Beef: I always get beef that is no leaner than 85 percent. The higher fat content helps the meatloaf stay moist! If you want a healthier version of crockpot meatloaf, you can also swap out the beef for ground turkey. Keep in mind, though, turkey tends to dry out more easily so you’ll want to add more liquids in order for it to turn out nice and moist.
    • Onion: The onions add a sweet and savory flavor to the meatloaf and also help to bind the ingredients together.
    • Parsley: Parsley adds a fresh and herby flavor to the meatloaf and also adds a pop of color!
    • Italian Bread Crumbs: Using Italian-style breadcrumbs adds a subtle flavor to the meatloaf. You can even make your own breadcrumbs using this recipe.
    • Milk: The milk helps to make the meatloaf moist and tender.
    • Worcestershire Sauce: This sauce adds a savory and slightly tangy flavor to the meatloaf.
    • Eggs: The eggs help to bind the ingredients together.
    • Garlic Powder: The garlic adds such a delicious savory flavor to the dish!
    • Kosher Salt: Salt is used to enhance the flavors in the recipe.
    • Pepper: Pepper is used to add subtle spiciness (but don’t worry, no heat!)
    • Ketchup: Ketchup is used as a glaze for the meatloaf.
    • Balsamic Vinegar: This adds a tangy and slightly sweet flavor to the glaze.
    • Brown Sugar: This adds a sweetness to the glaze.

How to Make Meatloaf in the Slow Cooker

The best part about this meal is that the crockpot does most of the work, leaving you with plenty of time to relax and enjoy your meal with the rest of your family!

    1. Line: Line the inside of a crockpot with foil. Spray the foil with non-stick cooking spray.
    2. Combine and Mix: In a large bowl combine beef, onion, parsley, Italian breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, eggs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix until combined being careful not to overmix.
    3. Shape the Meatloaf: Using your hands, shape the meatloaf into a large oval and place it on top of the foil in the crockpot.
    4. Whisk the Glaze: In a small bowl whisk together ketchup, vinegar, and brown sugar. Brush half of the mixture on the top of the meatloaf. Save the other half for later.
    5. Cook: Cook on low for 6 hours, or on high for 3 hours. Bake until the beef is cooked throughout and reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
    6. Top with Glaze: When finished cooking, top it with the remaining glaze.
    7. Slice and Serve: Serve sliced, with remaining glaze sauce served on the side for drizzling.

What is the Secret to Moist Meatloaf?

There are a few things you can do to ensure that your meatloaf doesn’t turn out dry:

    • Use Meat with a Higher Fat Content: Using ground beef with a higher fat content helps keep the meatloaf moist and flavorful while it cooks.
    • Don’t Overmix: Overmixing the ingredients can cause the proteins in the beef to break down, resulting in a dry and tough meatloaf.
    • Add Moisture to the Recipe: Adding ingredients like milk, eggs, or even some grated vegetables can help to add moisture to the meatloaf.
    • Don’t Skip the Glaze: Brushing a glaze or sauce on top of the meatloaf while it cooks can help to add moisture and flavor to the meatloaf.
    • Check the Temperature: Meatloaf should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking it for too long or at too high a temperature can cause the meat to dry out.
    • Let it Rest: Letting the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing lets all the liquids soak into the meatloaf to make sure it doesn’t dry out.

Closeup of a slice of meatloaf.

    Storing Leftovers

Crockpot meatloaf will last for up to 3-4 days in the fridge and up to 2-3 months in the freezer. Here’s how you can store it! Psst- it makes fantastic leftovers! Heat it up for a delicious, easy meal.

    • In the Refrigerator: Let your meatloaf cool down to room temperature before storing it. This helps to prevent any bacteria from growing. Wrap the meatloaf in plastic wrap and place in an airtight container or a zip-top bag. It should stay nice and fresh for 3-4 days.
    • In the Freezer: If you want to keep your meatloaf for longer, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil. Label it with the date and store it in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating.
    • Reheating: You can easily reheat your crockpot meatloaf in the microwave for a minute or two, or in the oven for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Ingredients You Will Need

Crockpot spinach artichoke dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that takes only a few simple ingredients to make. The main components of the dip are spinach, artichokes, sour cream, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic. The simplicity of the ingredients makes it a great option for when you don’t want to spend a fortune at the grocery store. You can also easily adjust the ingredients to personal taste and dietary restrictions like gluten-free, dairy-free, or low-fat. Check out the recipe card below for all measurements!

    • Cream Cheese: You’ll want this to be softened and cubed so it melts evenly. Want to make this spinach artichoke dip dairy free? Go for plant-based cream cheese.
    • Sour Cream: I love adding sour cream to my dips because it gives them the best hint of tang. You can use dairy-free sour cream as well! Greek yogurt is another great substitute for adding creaminess and a tangy flavor.
    • Mayonnaise: Adds creaminess to the dip.
    • Garlic: Minced garlic adds the best savory flavor!
    • Cheeses: Here I used a mix of shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan.
    • Canned Artichoke Hearts: Chopped into bite-sized pieces.
    • Fresh Baby Spinach: This should be chopped as well.
    • Salt and Pepper: Add to taste!

How to Make Spinach Artichoke Dip in the Crockpot

By simply placing all of the ingredients into the crockpot and turning it on, you can go about your day without having to constantly check on the dip. It’s especially convenient when hosting a party or gathering, because this way you can spend more time actually socializing with your guests instead of slaving away in the kitchen! This crockpot spinach artichoke dip recipe is definitely one to have in your back pocket.

    1. Add Ingredients to Crockpot: Add all of the ingredients into a small crock pot.
    2. Cook: Then put the lid on and set it on LOW for 2 hours. After 1 hour, remove the lid, and then stir. Replace the lid and then continue to cook for 1 additional hour.
    3. Stir and Season: Stir the dip and taste. Then add salt and pepper if needed.
    4. Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with a sliced baguette, French bread, crackers, crostini, or tortilla chips.

Tips for Making the Best Crockpot Dip

When it comes to appetizers, this crockpot spinach artichoke dip is as easy as it gets. That being said, here are a few extra tips to make sure your dip turns out perfectly!

    • Keep The Lid On: I know it’s tempting to lift the lid and check on your dip, but you’ll only want to do this once halfway through the cooking process. Leaving the lid on helps to keep in the heat and seal in moisture so your dip doesn’t dry out or burn.
    • Shred Your Own Cheese: Packaged shredded cheese is usually coated with additives that keep it from melting properly. I recommend shredding your own mozzarella and parmesan for best results!
    • Add Cheese Before Serving: If you want a delicious melty layer of cheese on top of your dip, sprinkle extra parmesan or mozzarella on top a few minutes before serving!

    Storing Leftovers

Homemade dips are SO easy to store and reheat. Keep any leftovers of your crockpot spinach artichoke dip in the fridge for best results!

    • In the Refrigerator: Once cooled, transfer dip to an airtight container and store for 3-4 days.
    • Reheating: Reheat in the microwave or on the stove, stirring frequently.

    Pot Roast Ingredients

I’ve given you three ways to cook the roast but the ingredients are all the same. It’s one of those hearty meals that brings everyone together around the table for good conversation and great memories. Exact measurements can be found below in the recipe card.

    • Olive Oil: You can use canola oil, but I like the extra bit of flavor the olive oil adds.
    • Chuck Roast: You’ll need a 3-4 pound roast. If your roast is much bigger, you’ll need to adjust the seasonings to accommodate so you have enough flavor.
    • Salt and Pepper: This is for generously seasoning the roast before searing.
    • Carrots: Use large carrots you have to cut yourself, they have so much more flavor than baby carrots.
    • Potatoes: The best potatoes for putting in a roast are yellow, golden or Yukon potatoes.
    • Onion: Yellow or white onions are flavorful but mellow enough to add flavor but not overpower.
    • Beef Broth: Make your own or buy prepackaged beef broth.
    • Red Wine: The alcohol will cook off and you’re left with flavor and tenderness. You can also substitute this with apple juice, cranberry juice or more beef broth.
    • Worcestershire Sauce: Boosts and intensifies the meaty flavor.
    • Garlic: Use fresh minced garlic for the best taste.
    • Onion and Garlic Powder: Adds the best savory flavor!
    • Salt and Pepper: This is to add to the sauce.

How to Make the Most Tender Roast

The wonderful thing about this pot roast recipe is that you can make it three different ways and end up with the same result any way you make it. The way of putting it together is the same for all three methods. So whether you use a slow cooker, pressure cooker, or the oven, it will always be fall-apart tender.

    1. Sear: For the oven and slow cooker, heat the oil over medium high heat in a cast iron skillet or heavy frying pan. Then salt and pepper the roast generously. Once the oil starts to smoke, sear each side of the roast for 2-3 minutes to give it a nice dark brown crust. If using an Instant Pot use the sauté button. Wait until it says “hot” before adding the oil and once it smokes sear the roast on all sides. Then remove the roast from the instant pot.
    2. Assemble: In the slow cooker, instant pot or a large casserole dish place the carrots, potatoes and onions into the bottom.  Next place the meat on top. In a small bowl combine the beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, garlic powder, and salt and pepper. Then pour over the roast.
    3. Cook: In the slow cooker, cook pot roast on low for 10 hours or till tender. In the Instant Pot cook on high for 60 minutes and natural release. For the oven, cover tightly with foil or a fitted oven safe lid and cook at 425 for ONLY 30 minutes then turn the oven down to 300 for 4-5 hours.

Tips for the Best Pot Roast

Here are a few extra tips to make your pot roast the talk of the neighborhood! This homemade pot roast is so tender and delicious, it may just be your new Sunday tradition!

    • It’s All About the Beef:  For that super tender pot roast it starts with the cut of meat. You want a cut that has lots of marbling. Which means it’s got lots of striations of fat running through it. This produces that amazing texture. Chuck roast is the ideal cut, but Brisket is another heavily marbled meat. Bottom or top round roasts are leaner and won’t be as tender.
    • Sear: Don’t skip this essential step. Searing the meat at a high temperature brings out the most flavor in the meat by caramelizing the natural sugars and brings out the savory flavor of the beef with it’s rich brown crust. It will also seal in those amazing juices. Make sure your pan is HOT. If your pan isn’t hot enough you will steam the meat which can actually make it tough.
    • Simplify: You can make the morning prep faster for yourself by prepping the veggies the night before. Place in a sealed container or bag in the fridge till morning.
    • Size: Size of meat and vegetables matter. If your roast is too large for your pan, pot or cooker you can cut it down to fit. Sear the cut pieces individually before adding them. Cut all the veggies to roughly the same size for even cooking. Chunk your onions don’t finely chop them. I find they give off more flavor and don’t turn to mush.
    • Low and Slow: To achieve the perfect tenderness it is always best to cook your roasts long and low. It will yield the best flavor and texture.

    Storing and Freezing

Pot roast makes the BEST leftovers. You’re going to love having them on hand to heat up and enjoy throughout the week!

    • In the Refrigerator: Cool the roast and vegetables and store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
    • In the Freezer: Freeze the pot roast in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat in a pan on the stove in it’s sauce or microwave.

Shredded roast and vegetables served in a white bowl.

To make in the slow cooker:

    • In a large cast iron skillet heat the olive oil on medium high heat until it starts smoking. Salt and pepper each side of the roast and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side to give it a dark brown crust.

    • In a 5 quart slow cooker add the carrots, potatoes, and onion. Place the roast on top. In a small bowl combine beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Pour over the top of the roast.

    • Cook on low for 10 hours or until tender.

To make in the Instant Pot:

    • Press the sauté button on the instant pot and wait for it to say “HOT”. Add in the olive oil. Salt and pepper the beef and slice the beef in half if it doesn’t fit. Working in batches, sear on each side for 2-3 minutes.

    • Place the carrots, potato, and onion into the bottom of the instant pot. Place the meat on top. In a small bowl combine beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Pour over the top of the roast.

    • Cook on high pressure for 60 minutes and then do a natural release.

    To roast in the oven:

    • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large cast iron skillet heat the olive oil on medium high heat until it starts smoking. Salt and pepper each side of the roast and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side to give it a dark brown crust.

    • In a large casserole dish add the carrots, potatoes, and onion. Place the roast on top. In a small bowl combine beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Pour over the top of the roast. Cover tightly and roast for 30 minutes. Turn the oven down to 300 degrees and allow to roast for 4-5 hours.

  • Fall off the Bone Slow Cooker Short Ribs

Fall off the Bone Slow Cooker Short Ribs

This website may contain affiliate links and advertising so that we can provide recipes to you. Read my privacy policy.

Fall-off-the-bone slow cooker short ribs are a perfectly hearty and savory dinner! This is the best way to cook succulent beef and fork-tender carrots that are emerged in a delicious sauce that is full of flavor.

Serve this with a side of my Dad’s famous mashed potatoes, delicious mashed cauliflower, or this incredible rice. You can serve the meat and sauce on top of the sides to help soak up all the yummy goodness of this meal. I also love to enjoy this meat with fork-tender vegetables.

Tender, juicy flavorful Slow Cooker Short Ribs with carrots

    Slow Cooker Short Ribs

Slow cooker short ribs are a cut of beef taken from the brisket, chuck, plate, or rib areas of beef cattle. They include a short portion of the rib bone, thus the name short rib. Once this meat cooks all day in the slow cooker it becomes fork-tender and is amazing. Your whole family will love this delicious and flavorful dish because the meat melts in your mouth!

This is why beef short ribs were meant for long, slow braising at low heat. The longer you cook them then the better they become. If you cook this type of beef fast then it will remain tough. Cooking them in the slow cooker is the best way to get them to the perfect level of fall-off-the-bone doneness. After cooking away for hours in your crockpot, short ribs turn from tough to melt-in-your-mouth tender. They’re a perfect winter meal. Add my perfectly sauteed Brussels sprouts and some yummy rolls! I also love to serve this with this strawberry pretzel salad and it’s a perfect Sunday meal.

Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs Ingredients

It only takes a handful of ingredients to make this meal full of flavor! The sauce is the best part of this recipe. You are going to love how juicy and tender this dish is. My husband requests this all time, and I love to make it because it is so easy.

    • Beef Short Ribs: 8-10 should fit nicely in your slow cooker
    • Salt and Pepper: Season to taste.
    • Olive Oil: For searing.
    • Carrots: Use large carrots, not baby carrots. Large carrots have more flavor
    • Beef Broth: To have an excellent beefy flavor don’t substitute for other broth.
    • Garlic: 3 cloves sounds like a lot but trust me it’s needed.
    • Tomato Paste: Imparts strong flavor without the extra water.
    • Worcestershire Sauce: Gives immense flavor
    • Italian Seasoning: One of my all-time favorite spice combinations, it’s so good!

    Cooking Beef Short Ribs

This recipe only takes a few minutes to put together then let the slow cooker do all the work! You will love how easy this slow cooker short rib recipe is. It’s a great meal to make in the morning then it’s ready when it’s time to eat dinner. It doesn’t get any easier!

    1. Sear: Salt and pepper the short ribs then sear in a skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure to do all sides. When they have a nice golden crust on all sides place in the slow cooker and add the carrots on top.
    2. Sauce: In a small bowl whisk the beef broth, garlic, tomato paste, worcestershire and italian seasoning. Pour the sauce over the ribs
    3. Cook: For best results cook on low for 8-10 hours.
First photo is seasoning the ribs with salt and pepper. Second photo is searing the meat on one side. Third photo is searing the meat on the other side. Fourth photo is pouring the sauce over the meat in the crockpot.

Tips for the Best Short Ribs

The trick to slow cooker short ribs is cooking them long enough to create tender meat. Here are my tips and tricks for getting your short ribs to be the best you’ve ever made! Follow my tips below and let’s get cooking.

    • Ribs: You can use short ribs with the bone in or without. Either will be amazing
    • Veggies: You can add onion and celery along with the meat.
    • Searing: You may be tempted to skip the searing step but make sure you don’t! It caramelizes the surface of the meat enhancing the flavor. So good! Worth the extra time.
    • Cooking Time:  If your short ribs turn out tough, that means that they didn’t cook long enough. Long and slow is key and they need to reach an internal temperature of 180-205 degrees Fahrenheit. This is when the heat is able to break down the connective tissue which makes them tough.

Fork Tender Slow Cooker Short Ribs in a bowl with mashed potatoes and carrots.

    How to Make Gravy

The sauce will create a mouth-watering gravy you don’t want to skip. You already have all the drippings from the slow cooker short ribs, so make a delicious gravy to go on top of everything. It’s the dish that keeps on giving!

    1. Cool: After the meat has cooled for about 15 minutes in the juices then remove the meat and cover.
    2. Drain: Let the drippings cool for another 5 minutes until the fat rises. Spoon the fat off of the liquid and discard.
    3. Boil: Turn the slow cooker on high or you can use a saucepan on the stove over high heat. Pour in the drippings.
    4. Thicken: Mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and ¼ cup cold water together. Pour into the drippings and constantly then stir until nice and thick.

    Storing Leftover Short Ribs

Store leftover slow cooker short ribs for lunch the next day. Your family will fight over it! It warms up great. I hope you do have leftovers because they are even better the next day.

    • In the Refrigerator: Cool leftovers to room temperature before sealing them in an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
    • In the Freezer: Place the cooled leftovers in an airtight container or freezer Ziploc bag. Seal tightly and freeze for up to 3 months.

    • Salt and pepper the beef short ribs. Heat a large skillet with the olive oil over medium high heat. Add the short ribs and sear each side for 1-2 minutes or until they have a golden brown crust. Remove from skillet and add to the slow cooker and add the carrots on top.
    • In a small bowl whisk the beef broth, garlic, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and Italian seasoning. Add to the slow cooker.

    • Cook on low for 8-9 hours or high 4-5 hours.

  • Rotel Dip

    Rotel Dip

This amazing Rotel Dip is the easiest and most delectable dip for any occasion! Perfectly spiced hamburger, creamy cheese, and full flavored Rotel tomatoes combine in this quick appetizer that everyone will love.

Everyone loves a fabulous dip, there’s just something about taking crackers, veggies, or chips and dipping them into something creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor. For more dips try this Insanely Delicious Hot Crab Dip, everyone’s favorite Loaded Creamy Ranch Dip, or this quick and easy 5 Minute Million Dollar Dip.

Creamy, spicy Rotel Dip with corn chips.

    Rotel Dip Recipe

This dip couldn’t be any easier or faster. When you need a fast dip with tons of flavor, this is the winner! Rotel is canned tomatoes with green chilies, which adds just a touch of spice.  I use taco seasoning to create more of that Mexican flare, but you can make this dish your own. It is SO creamy and delicious, I can’t stop myself from eating it! And the fact that it’s so easy to make means you can whip this up whenever you need to.

Make this for your next party, I promise your guests will love it! I have made this so many times, and it seriously never gets old. There’s just something perfect about creamy cheese, warm spices, and a pop of flavor from fresh veggies. It’s even perfect on a charcuterie board or served with your homemade air fryer tortilla chips. Any way you serve it, I guarantee your guests are going to love it!

    Ingredients

With only 4 ingredients this couldn’t be easier! All the ingredients can be found at your local grocery store. You can switch up this recipe in so many different ways, you are going to love all of the combinations! You can find the exact measurements below in the recipe card.

    • Hamburger: I like to use lean ground beef.
    • Taco Seasoning: I love my homemade Taco Seasoning, but you can also use store-bought.
    • Rotel Tomatoes: This is diced canned tomatoes with green chilies. Do not drain the can, you want all of those juices!
    • Velveeta Cheese: Velveeta is processed cheese. I know it’s not for everyone, which is why I have a substitution down below.
Mixing hamburger, cheese, spices and tomatoes for an amazing dip.

    How to Make Rotel Dip

This dip is made all in the same pot, which is why it’s so easy to make and clean up. I’m in love with quick and easy crowd pleasing dishes! Done in no time and served warm, you’ll be the hero of appetizers.

    1. Crumble: In a medium-sized skillet gook the ground beef, crumbling as it cooks. Cook till no longer pink. Drain the excess grease.
    2. Add:  Add in the taco seasoning, tomatoes, and cheese. Stir till melted. Remember not to drain the tomatoes, you’ll want the juices to help keep it the right consistency.
    3. Serve: Pour dip into desired serving dish and serve warm.

    Crockpot Rotel Dip

Rotel dip is simple to make in the slow cooker! I prefer this dip warm because as it cools it thickens. So even if you make it on the stovetop, serving it in a crock pot to keep warm during the party is such a great idea.

    • Crockpot Rotel Dip: To make cheese dip in the Slow Cooker first brown, crumble and drain the meat in a pan on the stovetop. Add it to the slow cooker. Then add the rest of the ingredients and turn on low for 2-3 hours, until everything is melted and smooth. Serve immediately or keep warm in the slow cooker. It’s that simple!

Tips and Variations for Rotel Cheese Dip

I love this dip because it’s so versatile. You can vary it to your liking, and do so without adding tons of other ingredients. Here are some of the ways I’ve made this dip that I think you will love! You seriously can’t go wrong when making this dip because every way I’ve made it has been a hit!

    • Alternative Proteins: I like to use ground turkey or chicken sometimes instead of ground beef. Spice it up with chorizo. Make it vegetarian by leaving out the meat, or using beans instead!
    • Adding Flavors: For a bit more bite, add chopped onions and sauté them. Add minced garlic too. There are so many different ways to spice this dish up. Add dashes of your favorite hot sauce, or add some crushed red pepper or jarred jalapeños. I love adding either chipotle chili powder or a teaspoon of chipotle chilis in adobo sauce. Or salsa is a great way to switch things up!
    • Tomatoes: You can sometimes find Rotel tomatoes in mild, medium, and hot. Use the heat level you and your family want. Do not drain the tomatoes. Add fresh tomatoes to garnish if you desire.
    • Use Another Cheese: If you’d prefer not to use Velveeta, you can use 8 oz cream cheese cut up. If you use cream cheese add some sharp shredded cheese for extra flavor.
    • Thin It Out: If you notice your dip is too thick (no one likes to break their chips in the dip). Thin it out with some milk a tablespoon at a time till it reaches the desired consistency.
    • What to Serve Dip With: If you are looking for ideas, some of my favorite things to dip in Rotel dip are corn chips, pita chips, crackers, pretzels, breadsticks, and veggies!

Using a corn chip to dip into the Rotel Dip.

    Storing Leftovers

This Rotel dip is amazing because it makes great leftovers! You can store it in the fridge or freezer, and the reheat is so easy.

    • In the Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
    • In the Freezer: Store leftovers in an airtight container or Ziploc bag and freeze for up to two months.

These ingredients for crockpot candy are so simple, you probably already have most of them in your pantry! You really can mix up this recipe and make it with what you have on hand. What you already have in your pantry is probably what your family likes the most anyways! You can find exact measurements below in the recipe card.

    • Lightly Salted Dry Roasted Peanuts: Roasted peanuts have lots of flavor, and the salt on the outside helps to balance out all of the sweet flavors. It is the perfect nut to go in this candy!
    • Vanilla Almond Bark: This is like a white chocolate bar that you should be able to find at your local grocery store. It is perfect for melting, and it has a nice sweet flavor with a hint of almond. You could also use white chocolate chips instead if you wanted to.
    • Semisweet Chocolate Chips: This helps to balance out all of the sweet flavors. You could also do dark chocolate chips if you like those better. Make sure to use a good quality chocolate, your candy will taste better! Milk chocolate chips would also work.
    • Dark Chocolate Bar: I like to use Ghiradelli 60% chocolate, I just think it has great flavor and balances out the sweetness of the other ingredients.
    • Mini Marshmallows: Mini marshmallows are a must in this candy! They add great texture and a gooey bite that you would miss if it wasn’t there.
    • Sprinkles: This ingredient is optional, but it adds such a cute festive flare to the candy. You could get gold sprinkles to make it look fancy!

    • 2 lbs vanilla almond bark broken into pieces
    • 1 12 oz bag semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1 4 oz dark chocolate bar broken into pieces (I like to use Ghirardelli 60%)
    • 4-5 cups mini marshmallows this is about 1 cup shy of a 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows
    • Sprinkles optional

    Instructions

    • Layer peanuts evenly into your crockpot. Add almond bark, chocolate chips, and dark chocolate bar on top.
    • Cover with lid and cook on low heat for one hour.
    • Remove lid and stir well. If all of the chocolate isn’t completely melted, continue to cook uncovered on low heat, stirring occasionally, for another 15-30 minutes (or as long as is needed until chocolate is melted).
    • Turn off heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Add mini marshmallows and stir briefly, just until marshmallows are coated in chocolate and combined (if you stir too much you will melt your marshmallows, you want them to pretty much maintain their shape).
    • Immediately use a 1 ½ Tablespoon sized cookie scoop (or two large spoonand scoop candy by heaping 1 ½ Tablespoon onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet (you’ll need several, this makes a lot of candy).
    • Top with sprinkles, if desired, then allow candy to set before enjoying (about 30-60 minutes).

    Slow Cooker Mississippi Pork Roast

I have fallen in love with this pork roast recipe. It is tender, juicy, and has all the flavor you need. It turned out perfect in the slow cooker, and I am here to tell you it was one of the best meals that I have ever made. Since making this recipe a couple of weeks ago, I have already made it again… Twice!

One of the best parts about this meal is that it is so incredibly easy. It takes less than 5 minutes to put everything in the slow cooker, and within minutes, it is ready for dinner. This tender, melt-in-your-mouth pork has a flavor that is to die for. Mississippi Roast usually calls for beef roast, but I love that you can always swap it out for pork. Not to mention, the leftovers are fantastic! Use them on top of some nachos, in a sandwich, or make yourself some tacos with the extra meat!

    Ingredients in Mississippi Pork Roast

Simplify your life by using marinated fresh pork. It comes in a wide assortment of mouthwatering flavors, including; Roasted Garlic and Herb, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Sweet Teriyaki, and Slow Smoked Mesquite. It also comes in a wide variety of cuts, including; loin filets, chops, ribs, sirloins, and tenderloins.

    • Pork Roast: I like to get a roast that is already marinated and ready to go so that I can get to cooking it right away!
    • Ranch Seasoning: This adds just the right fresh flavor and creates a delicious taste.
    • Au Jus Gravy Mix: The au jus mix adds to the ranch and makes it so that as the post cookies, it tasks on additional flavor.
    • Butter: I used unsalted butter in this recipe.
    • Pepperoncini Peppers: Once the roast is done cooking, you can discard the peppers.

    Let’s Cook a Roast!

This is a meal where you put all of the ingredients in the slow cooker, set it, and forget it! This Mississippi pork roast cooks to perfection and is so simple. This will be your new go-to family meal!

    • Add to Crockpot: Add pork roast to the slow cooker. Sprinkle ranch and au jus packages on top. Top with butter and peppers.
    • Cook: Cook on low for 6 hours.
    • Shred: Remove the pepperoncini peppers, shred the meat with a fork and serve.

What Temperature to Cook a Pork Roast

The National Pork Board recommends cooking pork chops, Mississippi pork roasts, and tenderloins to an internal temperature between 145 degrees Fahrenheit (medium rare) and 160 degrees Fahrenheit (medium), followed by a 3-minute rest. Since large cuts increase in temperature by about 10 degrees Fahrenheit while resting, remove them from the heat at 150 degrees Fahrenheit, followed by a 10-minute rest.

    How to Store Leftovers

If you have leftovers from this meal, then consider yourself lucky! The leftovers can be used in just about anything (I really loved them in a good sandwich or some tacos).

    • In the Refrigerator: Once your roast has cooled, then you can place it in an airtight container and store it in your fridge. It will last for about 3-4 days.
    • To Reheat: You can easily warm this up in the microwave just before serving!

    • Adding More Flavor: If you want your stroganoff to have stronger flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce!
