Beet hummus is hands down the most beautiful hummus you will ever eat! Roasted red beets transform traditional hummus into a vibrant, creamy, and delicious beet hummus perfect for snacking and serving as a dip.

This beet hummus is healthy, nutritious, and packed with flavor. The deep red hue is so impressive that serving it at parties or gatherings is a MUST! Your guests will crowd around this hummus because of how gorgeous it is, and stay to eat it because of how delicious it is. Beets are beautiful in so many dishes like in this amazing beet salad and roasted beet, quinoa, and carrot salad! Or just enjoy these simple yet perfect roasted beets.

    What Is Beet Hummus?

Beet hummus starts with the classic hummus recipe of chickpeas, tahini, garlic, and lemon. Blend in roasted beets and it becomes intensely vibrant and irresistible to your eyes and your tastebuds. The spices add depth and flavor that make this hummus the perfect complement to any veggie platter, sandwich, or charcuterie board.

Homemade hummus is so easy to make with simple ingredients. It’s light and fluffy, but rich and creamy all in one bowl. Use it as a spread, dip, or enjoy it by the spoonful. And if you’re a hummus lover, you’ll have to try traditional hummusavocado hummus, or this chocolate hummus next!

    Ingredients For The Prettiest Dip

The ingredients needed to make beet hummus are easy to find! Canned beets can be used if you can’t find beets to roast yourself. Keep these ingredients on hand so that you always have a quick appetizer to whip up for dinner or a party!

    • Cooked Beets: Beets that have been cooked or roasted ahead of time make this a 5-minute hummus recipe!
    • Olive Oil: Perfect for making the hummus rich and creamy with an olive taste.
    • Tahini: A jar of good quality tahini is the best. It’s a rich and creamy sesame paste that has a great nutty flavor.
    • Chickpeas:  Canned chickpeas are also called garbanzo beans.
    • Lemon: Freshly squeezed is BEST!
    • Garlic Cloves: Garlic is a must! Whole peeled cloves will blend up nicely, but minced garlic works too.
    • Ground Cumin: A perfect savory spice that is perfect for hummus.
    • Ground Coriander: Coriander is a great complement to cumin and the flavors create great taste!
    • Water: Balance the thickness and creaminess with water. Add more or less depending on your preferred consistency.
    • Salt: Salt adds a savory taste.

    Let’s Make Hummus

This beet hummus recipe comes together so fast in the food processor or blender. I love to use leftover roasted beets from the day before to make a batch of this hummus. Make it a quick snack, light lunch, or a fun dip to serve at your next party.

    1. Add Roasted Beets To Food Processor: Allow the roasted beets to cool slightly then place them into a food processor or blender.
    2. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add the chickpeas, tahini paste, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, water, salt, cumin, and coriander.
    3. Blend: Blend all of the ingredients together until desired consistency is reached. Add a little more olive oil or water to help reach a smoother texture if it seems too thick. Then give it a taste and add more salt if needed.
    4. Garnish: Garnish with additional olive oil and chopped fresh parsley.
    5. Enjoy: Serve with toasted pita bread, pita chips, crackers, or chopped vegetables.

    Roasting Beets In The Oven

I always cook beets in the instant pot for this beet hummus recipe because it is so easy and fast! But if you don’t have an instant pot, it’s just as easy in the oven. Follow my directions below on how to perfectly roast beets in the oven.

    • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
    • Wash and Remove Stems: Wash the whole beets, dry them, and cut off the stems.
    • Prepare the Pan: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Drizzle With Olive Oil: Drizzle the beets with olive oil and place them in the preheated oven.
    • Cook: Roast for 25-30 minutes or until very fork tender. Cooking time will depend on the size of your beets.

    Storing Leftover Hummus

I love making this beet hummus the day before to allow all of the flavors to marry together before serving. It also is great to store for snacking on all week. Serve with some veggies and you have a healthy snack full of fiber and vitamins that are so good for you! Everyone is going to LOVE it!

    • In the Refrigerator: It is best to store leftover beet hummus in an airtight container for 5 to 7 days in the refrigerator. Hummus will thicken as it chills, so stir in 1-2 tablespoons of cold water. It will add moisture and make it nice and creamy again.

    • Allow the roasted beets to cool slightly then place them into a food processor or blender.

    • Add the chickpeas, tahini paste, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, water, salt, cumin, and coriander.

    • Blend all of the ingredients together until desired consistency is reached. Add a little more olive oil or water to help reach a smoother texture if it seems too thick. Give it a taste and add more salt if needed.

    • Garnish with additional olive oil and chopped fresh parsley.

I love that the ingredients will keep in the pantry and fridge until I’m ready to make it. It truly is one of the best meals to plan ahead for those busy nights. See the recipe card below for a list of exact ingredient measurements.

    • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts: Use fresh boneless, skinless chicken breasts for this recipe.

Tips for Cooking with a Crockpot

Using a crockpot is easy but try out these tips and it will make cooking with one even easier! You may never go back to cooking on your stove again! This slow cooker angel chicken is the perfect place to start!

    • Keep the Lid ON: I know it’s tempting to want to take the lid off and check on your food! But a crockpot is designed to do its thing with the lid ON. Keep the lid on and don’t let out all of that heat that has been built up! Just look through the glass and trust your recipe!
    • Preheat Your Crockpot: A lot of people don’t do this and it really is a step that should always be taken. Turn your crockpot on to the correct setting about 20 minutes before you plan on putting your food in it. You can just turn it on while you prep your food!
    • Spray It: If you spray your slow cooker with cooking spray before you put your food in, then your cleanup will be so much easier! This helps so that your food doesn’t stick to the sides. Trust me, it’s an easy step that you will appreciate doing later!

Close up top view of cooked slow cooker angel chicken in a black crockpot. Fresh parsley is garnished on top.

    How to Store Leftovers

If you thought this slow cooker angel chicken tasted good on the first day, then wait until you try the leftovers. They are SOO GOOD and so perfect for lunch the next day. My kids fight over the leftovers!

    • In the Refrigerator: Once the angel chicken has cooled then you can place it in an airtight container in your fridge. It will last for up to 3 days.
    • To Reheat: Reheat leftover angel chicken in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until it is warmed through.

Tips for the Best Crack Chicken Casserole

Crack chicken casserole is as addictive as the name suggests! Here are a few simple ways to make it taste even better!

    • Use Rotisserie Chicken: Picking up a rotisserie chicken from the store makes this recipe so easy! I also love how tender and flavorful rotisserie chicken is, it makes this casserole even yummier!
    • Use Homemade Ranch Mix: Prepackaged ranch mix works great if you already have it on hand, but if you really want to take this recipe up a notch, try making your own blend of ranch seasoning mix! It has the most amazing flavor and is free of preservatives and artificial flavors! You can find my full recipe here.
    • Grate Your Own Cheese: If you want the best possible flavor for your crack chicken casserole, grate your own cheese! It melts better and has a creamier flavor.

    • In the Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days.

This is an easy weeknight meal idea that can be made complete with salsa, rice, and beans.

Top view of an air fryer quesadilla cut into triangles on a large gray plate. A small bowl of salsa, cilantro leaves, and a lime wedge are also on the plate next to the quesadilla.

What is an Air Fryer Quesadilla?

Two simple ingredients create a classic Mexican quesadilla. All you need is cheese and tortillas, and the air fryer does all the work! Everyone loves a cheesy, crispy, and warm quesadilla to enjoy as a snack, lunch, or any time of day. Follow my tips below for ideas on how to make this a heartier meal by adding meat, veggies, or beans.

Quesadillas can also be served as an appetizer or side dish to any meal. They are a great after-school snack idea, but they also go along with dinner. My kids LOVE when I serve quesadillas with this easy taco soup or our favorite tortilla soup. I also love to serve them as a side dish with this incredible avocado chicken!

    Quesadilla Ingredients

A recipe doesn’t get any easier than 2 ingredients. And you most likely already have them on hand! This recipe is my go-to air fryer recipe when I’m in a time crunch. You’ll always want to have tortillas in your pantry and cheese in your fridge so you can make them! Whip these up on those busy weeknights when you don’t have a lot of time to make dinner.

    • Flour Tortillas: Flour tortillas are my favorite because they are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! But corn tortillas are also delicious if you’re gluten-free.
    • Colby-Jack Cheese: I love using freshly grated Colby-jack cheese, but feel free to use any cheese you like.

    Let’s Make Air Fryer Quesadillas

This air fryer quesadilla recipe is so easy to follow and the results are perfect every time! I love that I just throw the folded tortilla and cheese into the air fryer basket, then the air fryer does the rest. Wrap your quesadillas with foil to keep them warm if you need. It is easily my FAVORITE air fryer recipe and I can’t wait for you to see why I love it so much!

    1. Add Cheese on Tortillas: Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of each tortilla, then fold the tortilla in half.  Divide the cheese between each tortilla using more or less to your liking.
    2. Fold and Cook: Carefully place the folded tortillas in the air fryer basket and cook at 350° Fahrenheit for 3 minutes. Flip the quesadillas and continue to cook for an additional 3 minutes or cook longer to the desired doneness.
    3. Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy with toppings and salsa!

Third photo is two cooked quesadillas in the air fryer basket. Fourth photo is the air fryer quesadilla cut into triangles and placed in the air fryer basket.

    Variations

Air fryer quesadillas are so versatile because you can create them to fit your taste buds and your cravings. Quesadillas can be more than just cheese. Switch up the seasonings and flavors, or add veggies or meat to make it a full meal. Any way you choose to make them will be AMAZING!

    • Cheese: You can use any cheese or any combination of cheeses. I prefer Colby jack, but for a kick use pepper jack!
    • Meat: These are vegetarian, but you can easily add in chicken or beef for a heartier meal.
    • Add Some Heat: I also love adding jalapenos or red pepper flakes to make it spicy!
    • Add-ins: To mix it up you can add in rice or beans. Black beans or refried beans are the best!
    • Veggies: Sneak in some nutrients by adding veggies like corn, bell peppers or onions.
    • Dipping Options: Serve with salsa verde, sour cream, or guacamole on the side for dipping!

    Storing Leftovers

Leftover air fryer quesadillas are great for quick snacks or meals! Rewarming them in the air fryer doesn’t take long at all. You can make a fresh quesadilla in the time it takes you to rewarm the leftovers, but if you do have leftover quesadillas just follow the directions below to enjoy them later.

    • In the Refrigerator: Place leftovers in an airtight container or sealable bag. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days. I like to separate them with paper towels to help them not get soggy.
    • In the Freezer: Wrap the quesadillas individually in parchment paper then place them in a freezer-safe Ziploc bag or sealable container. Make sure to lay them flat in the freezer. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
    • To Reheat: You can reheat them in the microwave but the tortilla will become soft. To keep the crisp outside, reheat the quesadilla in the air fryer. Cook at 350° Fahrenheit for about 3 minutes or until warmed through.

Close up photo of a piece of quesadilla being dipped into a small bowl of salsa. The quesadilla and salsa are on a large gray plate. Cilantro and a lime wedge are garnished on the plate.

    • Sprinkle the cheese on top of each tortilla, then fold the tortilla in half.  Divide the cheese between each tortilla using more or less to your liking.

    • Carefully place the folded tortillas in the air fryer basket and cook at 350° Fahrenheit for 3 minutes. Flip the quesadillas and continue to cook for an additional 3 minutes or cook longer to the desired doneness.

    • Serve immediately and enjoy with toppings on the side!

All of the goodness of lasagna is packed into this hearty and delicious soup!  Filled with noodles, ground beef, marinara and cheese, this is a soup that your family will love!

Fall is my favorite time of year because it can only mean one thing… Soup season! This lasagna soup pairs perfectly with a nice fresh salad and either this Homemade Easy Cheesy Garlic Bread or this delicious Focaccia for the perfect homecooked meal.

Lasagna soup is savory meat, tender noodles and rich broth in a bowl.

    Lasagna Soup

Lasagna is always a huge hit at my house! So when I made the soup version of it, my kids went crazy! This soup is packed with all of the goodness of lasagna. Tender noodles, savory meat, flavor-packed broth, and gooey cheese. It is divine!  Both soup and lasagna are classic comfort foods, and I’ve combined them into the ultimate mega comfort dish, lasagna soup!

Lasagna soup has a delightful creamines to it in addition to that classic lasagna flavor. Your family will love this twist on the classic, plus it’s super simple and easy to make. And… one of the best parts about Italian food, in general, is it tastes even better the second day after all the flavors meld together. It’s a perfect homemade meal.

    Soup Ingredients

Lasagna is classic homey comfort food that everyone loves. Putting it in soup form is absolutely irresistible!

    • Lasagna Noodles: This keeps this dish classic! Break up the noodles into bite-sized pieces so that you can have some n every bite!
    • Oil: Olive Oil is a classic in Italian cooking.
    • Onion: Chop the onion up into small pieces so that the flavor gets distributed throughout the dish.
    • Ground Beef: You can also use ground turkey or ground sausage, depending on what you prefer.
    • Garlic: I like to use fresh, but garlic from a jar will also work in a pinch. ½ a teaspoon of minced garlic equals about one clove of garlic.
    • Oregano: This is the must-have spice in lasagna!
    • Tomato Paste: The tomato paste adds richness and depth to the tomato flavor.
    • Chicken Broth: You can also use beef or vegetable broth in lasagna soup!
    • Crushed Tomatoes: If you want bigger pieces, you can use diced tomatoes, but my kids like them small.
    • Chopped Fresh Basil: Fresh basil add such a nice bright flavor.
    • Grated Parmesan: Parmesan adds a delicious flavor and texture.
    • Heavy Cream: You can also use half and half. check out my half and half recipe so that you don’t have to run to the store!

    Putting Lasagna Soup Together

    1. Boil: Cook the lasagna noodles according to the directions and drain, drizzle with a bit of olive oil to prevent sticking.
    2. Sauté: n a large pot add 1 Tablespoon of oil and suge the onion till softens.
    3. Cook: Add the ground meat, garlic, oregano and cook till meat is brown and cooked through. Add the tomato paste and stir for 2 min.
    4. Simmer: Pour in the chicken broth, tomatoes, and a cup of water, cover and bring to simmer. Uncover and cook, till slightly reduced about 10 min. Stir in the noodles, basil, parmesan, and heavy cream, and heat for about 2 min.
    5. Garnish: Top with more fresh basil, ricotta, and parmesan if desired.
Sauteing onion, ground meat, and making flavored broth for Lasagna Soup.

    Cooking Tips and Tricks

I want you to enjoy this lasagna soup every time that you cook it! Here are some tips and trick for it to turn out perfectly.

    • Noodles: I cook the noodles separately to keep them from getting overly cooked and mushy. Add the noodles to the soup right before serving. The soup can sit on the stove for a while simmering, but don’t add the noodles till right at the end.
    • Cook in the Soup: You can cook the noodles in the soup. Add them once you bring the broth to a simmer. Add one extra cup of water to compensate for what the noodles absorb.
    • Meat: Use your favorite type of meat here. Italian sausage, spicy sausage or ground pork, turkey, chicken, and beef all will work in this recipe.
    • Cheese:  Feel free to add different cheeses to garnish. Romano, asiago, or mozzarella are all favorites.
    • Mix up the Pasta: Don’t have lasagna noodles? Don’t fret. You can use any type of pasta to make this soup. Use whatever you have on hand.

Lasagna soup is savory meat, tender noodles and rich broth in a pot.

    Storing Lasagna Soup

As I said, Italian food stores amazingly and almost taste better the next day! Here is how you can enjoy your lasagna soup for lunch or dinner the next day!

    • In the Refrigerator: If you know you’re going to have leftovers keep your noodles separate from the rest of the soup so that the noodles don’t soak up extra broth and become super soft and mushy. Store the soup and pasta in separate airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
    • In Freezer: Lasagna soup also freezes well. Again store the soup and noodles separately in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight
    • To Reheat: Warm up the soup in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Once heated through you can stir in the noodles and heat thoroughly, about 5-10 minutes.

    • Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and drizzle with a little bit of olive oil.

    • Add 1 Tablespoon olive oil in a large pot and heat over medium-high heat. Add the onion to cook until it starts to soften. Add the ground beef, garlic, and oregano and continue to cook until the meat is brown and cooked throughout. Add the tomato noodles, continue stirring, and cook for about 2 minutes.

    • Add the chicken broth, tomatoes, and 1 cup of water; cover and bring to a simmer. Uncover and cook until slightly reduced, about 10 minutes. Stir in the noodles, basil, parmesan, and heavy cream. Simmer for two more minutes.

    • Serve in bowls and garnish with chopped basil, ricotta cheese, and parmesan if desired.

  • Wonton Soup

    Wonton Soup

This website may contain affiliate links and advertising so that we can provide recipes to you. Read my privacy policy.

This homemade wonton soup is better than Chinese takeout and so easy to make! Enjoy the comforting flavors of tender wontons, vegetables, and warm broth seasoned with classic Chinese flavors of ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic.

We always order wonton soup when we go to a Chinese restaurant, and I just can’t get enough of it! I also make sure to order our favorite appetizers too! I love that I can make our favorites at home when we have a craving for them. My favorites are wontons, egg rolls, and fresh spring rolls.

Top view of wonton soup in a tan bowl with a white spoon lifting up a wonton dumpling. A tan towel and bowl of green onions are next to the bowl.

    What Is Wonton Soup?

Wonton soup is a seasoned broth-based soup filled with boiled wontons and veggies. Soft wonton dumplings stuffed with ground pork and spices add so much flavor and depth to this delicious Chinese soup. My recipe is filled with lots of fresh mushrooms and bok choy. Bok choy is a Chinese cabbage that adds the best texture!

Similar to tortellini or ravioli, wontons are bursting with goodness on the inside. I love a good pasta, or in this case egg noodle, that is stuffed with a delicious cheese or meat mixture. Pierogi, a traditional Polish dumpling, is another great recipe to try!

    Wonton Soup Ingredients

The ingredients for this wonton soup are simple and fresh and so delicious. This soup is so versatile, and I love switching up the vegetables. All of the authentic Chinese flavors in this soup go perfectly together and you’re going to LOVE it!

    • Sesame Oil: Sesame oil is a must when flavoring Chinese cuisine!
    • Garlic: The added flavor of garlic is always delicious.
    • Shiitake Mushrooms: I love the texture of mushrooms in this soup, but you can leave them out.
    • Ginger: Fresh ginger is always BEST!
    • Chicken Broth: Chicken broth is my favorite in this soup, but feel free to use beef or vegetable broth if you prefer.
    • Baby Bok Choy: Cute little baby bok choy is both beautiful and delicious in this soup. Bok choy is a Chinese cabbage full of great nutrients.
    • Frozen Wontons: Pre-made wontons are what make this soup so easy to put together. It’s so easy to pull from the freezer when you’re ready to make this soup!
    • Soy Sauce: Soy sauce adds delicious flavor and a little salty flavor. It tastes great in this recipe, and you can add more if you’d like.
    • Green Onions: Green onions are a great garnish for Chinese dishes, and the color is so pretty for garnishing.

    Classic Chinese Soup Recipe

Making wonton soup at home is extremely easy with just a few simple steps. It comes together in 15 minutes! You will love how fast you can have dinner ready for your family! Just follow the recipe card at the end of this post for exact measurements and instructions.

    1. Cook Garlic, Mushrooms, and Ginger: In a large pot over medium-high heat add the sesame oil, garlic, mushrooms, and ginger. Saute for about 2-3 minutes or until tender.
    2. Boil Broth, Bok Choy, and Wontons: Add in the chicken broth then bring to a boil. Reduce heat and add in the bok choy and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Add in the wontons. Continue to simmer for another 3-4 minutes and wontons are heated throughout.
    3. Add Soy Sauce and Green Onions: Add soy sauce and green onions and serve in bowls.

    Variations and Add-In Ideas

The ideas are endless when making this easy wonton soup. You can even switch up the broth flavors and guests can choose which flavor of broth to add their wonton dumplings and vegetables to! Here are some extra ingredient suggestions for this savory wonton soup.

    • Vegetable Ideas: Shredded carrots, broccoli florets, and bell peppers are just a few ideas of veggies you can add in. The options are endless, and I love switching up the vegetables to experiment with different flavors.
    • Try Adding Protein: Fresh shrimp, cooked chicken, or tofu would be incredible in this soup.
    • Change Up the Greens: Instead of baby bok choy, try using fresh spinach, cabbage, or kale. You can’t go wrong with the added nutrition and texture of greens.
    • Make it Spicy: If you love spicy like me, add a little heat with white pepper, red chili flakes, or a drizzle of sriracha sauce.

Large white pot full of wonton soup. A large silver serving spoon is lifting the soup out of the pot.

    Storing Leftover Wonton Soup

Make a big batch of this delicious soup and save it to eat throughout the week. It warms up perfectly and the flavors are still better than ever! Follow my instructions below for storing and reheating this incredible soup.

    • In the Refrigerator: Store any leftover wontons and soup airtight in the fridge for up to 4 days. Wontons that are left in the broth may soften a little, but they are still delicious when they are reheated. You can store and seal them separately in their own container to prevent them from softening in the broth.
    • To Reheat: Reheat the soup in the microwave or on the stovetop for a few minutes until warmed through. I like to add a new batch of frozen wonton noodles to the pot when reheating the soup over the stove.

Close up photo of wonton soup in a tan bowl with a white spoon lifting up a wonton dumpling. A tan towel and bowl of green onions are next to the bowl.

    • In a large pot over medium high heat add the sesame oil, garlic, mushrooms and ginger. Saute for about 2-3 minutes or until tender.

    • Add in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and add in the bok choy and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Add in the wontons. Continue to simmer for another 3-4 minutes and wontons are heated throughout.

    • Add in soy sauce and green onions and serve.

Skillet meals are a great way to get so much flavor because all of the ingredients are cooked together in a pan! Here are a few tips that are good to know, especially if you haven’t cooked a lot in a skillet before! Good luck and enjoy!

    • How to clean a skillet: You never want to put your skillet pan in the dishwasher! This will eat away at the coating. You can use mild soap and hand wash it.
    • Preheat your pan: When you are cooking with a skillet, you want to take the time to heat it up on the stove before adding ingredients. This will help so that your food doesn’t stick to it. start it out on low heat and then gradually move it up to medium and then high. Heat it up for about 5 minutes before you want to use it for cooking your skillet meals!
    • Dry your pan: Skillets can rust very easily (which is bad!) so make sure that after you cook with it or clean it, you dry it off all the way!

I can usually have it in and out of the oven before a delivery guy would arrive! And I do agree with my kids- it tastes SO much better.

As quick and easy as this recipe is, a homemade pizza is only as good as its toppings! Chicken alfredo is one of my absolute favorites. It’s a classic for good reason, so savory and creamy! The key to the best flavor is to use homemade alfredo sauce. From there, you just layer on juicy chicken breast, red onion for some crunch, shredded mozzarella, and all the bacon! (Find more topping ideas below!) This simple but delicious chicken alfredo pizza is going to win the hearts of everyone in your family. It’s just too good to resist.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

This is everything you’ll need for toppings as well as your homemade dough and sauce! This homemade chicken alfredo pizza uses a lot of pantry staples which makes this recipe an even better choice for dinner! It’s so quick and easy and you can customize your pizza based on what you have on hand! Note: all measurements can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.

    Dough Ingredients:

    • Warm Water: Helps the dough become malleable and activates the yeast.
    • Sugar: Both sugar and salt keep your pizza crust from tasting bland.
    • Yeast: I used instant dry yeast for the dough!
    • Flour: All-purpose flour works great here. Whole wheat is great too! You can find my full recipe for whole wheat pizza dough here.
    • Salt: Enhances the overall flavor of the crust.
    • Cornmeal: Used for dusting so the dough doesn’t stick to the pan.
    • Olive Oil: This is for brushing on the crust. It adds a little extra moisture and gives it the perfect sheen!

    Alfredo Ingredients:

    • Butter: Adds a delicious creaminess and rich flavor to the alfredo sauce!
    • Heavy Whipping Cream: This is what makes the sauce so thick and indulgent. You can also use half and half or whole milk as a substitute.
    • Garlic: Minced garlic will give your sauce the best savory flavor, but garlic powder works great too!
    • Salt and Black Pepper: Add both for a boost of flavor!
    • Italian Seasoning: I put Italian seasoning in everything, it’s just so good! You can use premade seasoning or make your own batch using my tried and true recipe here. Making your own seasoning blends is the best because you can adjust the flavor to your liking!
    • Grated Parmesan Cheese: This is the key to creamy, cheesy sauce with the best flavor!
    • Flour: Adjusts the consistency of the alfredo sauce.

    Pizza Toppings:

    • Chicken: You’ll want this to be cooked and shredded so you can add it evenly on top of your chicken alfredo pizza. Shredding rotisserie chicken is an easy way to have this on hand, ready to go!
    • Bacon: I like using precooked bacon for easy prep!
    • Sliced Red Onion: Adds the best crunch and pop of sharp, savory flavor!
    • Mozzarella Cheese: No pizza is complete without some melty mozzarella! Use freshly-grated mozzarella if possible. It has much better flavor and melts more easily than what’s available prepackaged at the store.

How to Make Homemade Chicken Alfredo Pizza

It’s super easy and you’ll have your guests impressed by that tasty homemade crust! You’ll have a hot and tasty chicken alfredo pizza ready to go in 30 minutes- just about the same time as making a frozen pizza or ordering delivery! (Homemade pizza just tastes much, much better.)

    1. Preheat Oven, Prep Pan: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a 12-inch pizza pan with cooking spray or dust with cornmeal. Set aside.
    2. Prepare Alfredo Sauce: To make the alfredo sauce, in a medium saucepan, melt the butter on medium heat. Whisk in the heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and parmesan. Allow to simmer while making the dough. If you would like a thicker consistency, add one tablespoon of flour.
    3. Proof Dough: In a stand mixer using the dough hook, add warm water, yeast, and sugar. Allow the yeast to proof for 5 minutes.
    4. Shape and Rest: Add the flour and salt and mix until the dough forms into a ball and is smooth. Let rest for 10 minutes.
    5. Roll Dough: Roll the dough out into a large circle about 10-12 inches depending on how thick you want your pizza. (For a thinner crust, divide the dough in half and make two pizzas.) Press the dough from the center out to the edges making the crust thicker. Transfer to your pizza pan.
    6. Add Sauce and Toppings: Spread the alfredo sauce on top of the crust. Top with about half of the cheese and sprinkle on desired toppings. Top with the rest of the cheese. Brush the outer edges of the crust lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with cornmeal.
    7. Bake and Enjoy: Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Enjoy!

    Tasty Variations

Whether you want to make your pizza keto-friendly or add some additional toppings, I’ve got you covered!

    • Swap Crust: To make your chicken alfredo pizza low-carb, try swapping the regular crust for this keto crust or zucchini crust!
    • More Toppings: A few more delicious toppings to try are spinach, chopped tomatoes, basil leaves, and mushrooms.
    • More Sauces: For a chicken bacon ranch style pizza, try adding a drizzle of ranch dressing on top of your cooked pizza for a pop of extra flavor!
    • Add Spice: If you’re looking to add some heat, try sprinkling your chicken alfredo pizza with red pepper flakes!

    Blackened Cajun Shrimp Tacos Recipe

This recipe starts with this blackened Cajun shrimp. I love Cajun seasoning because it has so many spices combined in one to really add a kick. It was perfect for seasoning the shrimp and makes a nice crisp seasoned edge. The taste and texture of the shrimp are perfect! But then, you top it off with some delicious avocado salsa and wrap it up in a crisp tortilla… it’s a match made in heaven!

When thinking of what to put inside of these blackened Cajun shrimp tacos, I knew that an avocado salsa had to be involved. I LOVE avocado salsa and could literally eat it with a spoon. Fresh avocados, tomatoes, red onion, black beans, and corn with a squeeze of fresh lime. This really took these tacos to the next level!

Ingredients in Blackened Cajun Shrimp Tacos

These tacos are so simple and easy! I love using the avocado salsa because then I don’t have to set out individual toppings. You just add that in, and all of the flavors are there in one place, ready to go! Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

    • Jumbo Shrimp: You can use frozen shrimp in this recipe! You can buy it peeled and deveined, which makes it so simple! You can also remove the tails if you want.
    • Cajun Seasoning: You can buy this at the store or easily make it at home with this recipe of mine!
    • Olive Oil: The olive oil helps the seasonings to stick to the shrimp.
    • Feta: You don’t have to use this, but I love to sprinkle on feta cheese as an additional topping.
    • Flour Tortillas: You can buy these at the store or make them at home with this recipe. You can also use corn tortillas if you prefer!

    Avocado Salsa

    • Roma Tomatoes: You can dice these up to whatever size you prefer.
    • Yellow Corn: I used a can of corn in this recipe, but you can also take corn fresh from the cob or use thawed frozen corn.
    • Black Beans: After you open your black beans, rinse and drain them before adding them to the salsa.
    • Red Onion: I like to use red onion because it’s the best onion to eat raw.
    • Avocados: Dice these up and add them to the salsa just before serving so that they don’t turn brown.
    • Cilantro: Cilantro adds such a delightful taste to finish off the salsa.
    • Lime: You can just juice from fresh lime or use bottled lime juice. Fresh will always bring in a brighter taste.
    • Salt and Pepper: These will enhance all of the flavors in this salsa that goes on top of these blackened Cajun shrimp tacos.

How to Make Blackened Cajun Shrimp Tacos

If you thought the ingredients list was easy, then wait until you see how easy these are to make! Only 3 steps and you will be on your way to eating deliciously flavored tacos and you won’t be able to stop at just one!

    1. Toss and Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp and cajun seasoning in a medium-sized bowl. Toss until coated. Add olive oil and shrimp over medium-high heat in a medium-sized skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until no longer pink.
    2. Make the Avocado Salsa: Add the tomatoes, corn, black beans, red onion, avocado, and cilantro to a bowl. Salt and pepper to taste.
    3. Combine: Assemble the tacos by dividing the avocado salsa and topping it with shrimp. Sprinkle with crumbled feta and serve immediately.

    Variations

These blackened Cajun shrimp tacos are simple and can easily be changed up to fit your needs! Here are a few ideas on how to make them different every time!

    • Seasoning: Cajun seasoning is insanely delicious but have you tried my blackened seasoning? It’s similar but just different enough (it’s slightly less spicy) that you may want to use it on at least half of the tacos so that you have a slight variation of flavor!
    • Toppings: If avocado salsa is not your thing, then there are other ways to add a lot of flavors! Try using shredded purple cabbage with some feta cheese, cilantro, and lime!

How to Store Blackened Cajun Shrimp Tacos

These shrimp tacos can be stored as leftovers as long as you store all of the ingredients separately! They will be soggy the next day if you store them all together.

    1. In the Refrigerator: Place your unused shrimp and avocado salsa in separate airtight containers and store them in the fridge. It will last about two days.
    2. To Reheat the Shrimp: You can cook them on the stove with about a teaspoon of olive oil on medium heat for about 1-2 minutes until they are heated through.
